Anne Arundel County Girls Lacrosse Rules
Jr Division
1) 25 minutes halves, running time with clock stopped during last minute of each half and during time outs. 8 minute half time.
2) 1 time out per game per team.
3) Team gets free clear at Midfield after goal if a team is down by 5 or more goals
4) Draw to start 2nd half even if team is down by 5 or more goals
5) Field consists of 11 field players plus 1 goalie
6) Full checking allowed
7) Follow thru NOT allowed in goal circle
8) On the fly substitutions
9) USL Women’s rules used with above exceptions. Anne Arundel County does not use USL “Yes” rules.
Middie Division:
1) 25 minute halves, running time with clock stopped during last minute of each half and during time outs. 8 minute half time.
2) 1 time out per game per team
3) Modified Checking allowed (below the shoulder)
4) 5 Second Rule applies: Player who has held ball for more then 5 seconds MUST make a pass before shot can be taken. In the event that shot has been taken after the 5 seconds, goal does not count and possession is given to the goalkeeper. In the event 5 second count occurred during the act of shooting, official will allow the shot/goal.
5) Free Clear at midfield after goal if a team is down by 5 or more goals.
6) Draw is used to start 2nd half even if team is down by 5 or more goals
7) Follow thru is NOT allowed in goal circle
8) Scores/standings are recorded. Each team to provide a volunteer for score and time keeping.
9) On the fly substitutions
10) USL Women’s Rules used with above exceptions. Anne Arundel County does not use USL “Yes” rules.
Pee Wee Division:
1) 20 minute running time with NO stopped clock and NO time outs. 8 minute half time.
2) 8 players; 7 on the field and 1 goalie.
3) 5 second Rule applies (see above).
4) One pass from possession before shot can be taken. Passes by goalies are excluded.
5) One pass must be made after whistle.
6) Only 5 players allowed past midfield (2 players back at restraining line). Goalies can not go past midfield.
7) NO Checking.
8) All free positions are INDIRECT.
9) NO Zone defense. Only man to man.
10) NO Double teams.
11) Draw after every goal except if a team is down by 5 or more goals. Then go to free position at Midfield after each goal.
12) Draw to start 2nd half even if a team is down by 5 or more goals.
13) No 3 second violation at the 8 meter.
14) SCORES ARE NOT RECORDED.
15) No coaches on the field.
16) NO Follow thru in goal circle.
17) On the fly substitutions

Sticklette Division:
1) FOCUS ON FUN AND INSTRUCTION
2) 20 minute halves, running time, no stopped clock, no time outs. 8 minutes halves.
3) Teams will play 6 players at a time with no goalie.
4) One coach from each team to officiate game.
5) Each team to provide a shooting net.
6) One pass from possession before a shot can be taken.
7) One pass to be made after a whistle.
8) 5 second rule applies (see above)
9) NO CHECKING
10) All free possessions are indirect.
11) NO Zone defense, only man to man. NO Double teams.
12) Draw to start each game and after each goal.
13) No 3 second violation in the 8 meter
14) On the fly substitutions
15) SCORES ARE NOT RECORDED.
