Frequently Asked Questions-
How much is the fee to participate?
The registration for Cape Wrestling for all wrestlers is $125.
This season there is an additional registration option for $165, which includes Tornado Headgear. Headgear is a requirement for all wrestling meets/matches.
Is there an age requirement?
Wrestlers must be 7 years or older.
A copy of your child's birth certificate will be required the evening of our first practice.
Where and When is practice?
Practice is help at Broadneck Senior High School. TENTATIVELY: Practices are scheduled for M, W, and Th from 7-8:30.
A parent or responsible adult (or older sibling) is expected to be present during practice for children under 9, however the practice is closed. Parents/Guardians are asked to sit in the hallway outside of the gym. After practice, all wrestlers are expected to assist in mat roll-up.
What equipment is required for wrestling?
Wrestlers are required to wear wrestling shoes on the mats for each practice- NOT TENNIS SHOES. For meets/matches, wrestlers will need appropriate headgear.
When will we receive the schedule for meets/matches?
There is a scheduling meeting in early December. Once the schedule is finalized, you will receive a copy. Participation in the meets/matches is an expectation for each of the wrestlers.
I want to coach and/or volunteer during practice. What do I have to do?
In order to coach and/or volunteer, you MUST complete a background check. In addition, coaches are required to be certified through the county.
